Protium Technologies (Pty) Ltd (“Protium”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our websites (www.protium.co.za and tools.protium.co.za), why we collect it, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Information We Collect

  • Enquiries and project briefs: when you contact us or complete a project brief, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, company, and the description of your project.
  • Job applications: when you apply to work with us, we collect the information in your application and CV.
  • Usage information: we use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our websites, including pages visited, approximate location, and device and browser type. See our Cookie Policy for details of the services we use.
  • Collaboration tools: rooms created on tools.protium.co.za, and the content added to them, are automatically and permanently deleted after 7 days.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals, provide and improve our services, consider job applications, keep our websites working and secure, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, such as Microsoft Azure for hosting and the analytics providers listed in our Cookie Policy, and where the law requires it. Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we ensure the information receives a level of protection consistent with POPIA.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires. Enquiry and project information is kept while we engage with you and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Your Rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, email us at info@protium.co.za. Requests for access to records are handled in terms of our PAIA Manual.

If you believe we have processed your personal information unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforeg.org.za or POPIAComplaints@inforeg.org.za.
